We’re back with an absolutely delicious sandwich of the week. Our friends at Grafton Village Cheese Co. sent us some cheese to try out with our homemade pizzas and our sandwiches that we make every attempt to post weekly. This week, had to be one of the most delicious sandwiches we have made to date. Here’s how it breaks down. Note: we try to support our local food producers as much as possible. You can always use store-brands, but we have learned that you get what you pay for.
- 1 T Cabot butter
- 1 T Green Mountain Mustard – Horseradish
- 2 slices of Klinger’s sourdough bread
- 1/8 # (about six thin slices) of McKenzie maple-glazed ham
- A couple slices of Grafton maple smoked cheddar (this won 3rd place at the World Cheese Awards!)
Prepare the grilled cheese like you would any other grilled cheese until the bread is perfectly browned. We found the Grafton cheese combined with our mustard to really be the star. The smokiness of the cheddar was the perfect amount and it pulled with every bite – something that I love with a grilled cheese. Our horseradish mustard melted right in with the cheese and the sourdough bread kept everything together. All around, I highly recommend giving this sandwich a try.
